Currently... Farley's Link-Up for July!

Good news! It's July 1st, which means it's time for Farley's "Currently" Linky Party! It's always so fun to get a little glimpse into everyone's lives and get to know them a bit more! The last category, "reads", is for you to choose your favorite read-aloud book and your favorite professional book. The first time I read Mars Needs Moms to my class, I almost cried! I had never read it before and it is such a sweet and moving story. My professional go-to book, Teaching Writing in Kindergarten, really helped me with different writing techniques to help my kinder kiddos' skills grow during my first year of teaching 3 years ago. Anywho! Here's mine for July:

Hope you'll go link up too! Check out her post here: Farley's "Currently" Linky Party!

  2. I think I'm going to have to find some girl friends to go see Magic Mike, lol. I doubt I'd be able to talk my husband into going. :0)
I've never read "Mars Needs Mom". What's it about?

    1. It's about a boy who doesn't appreciate the things his mom does for him, and the beginning of the story has him being angry with her and going along and calling his mom all these silly names, like "trash monger" (or something like that, just because she makes him take out the trash for his chores. ha!) Then Martians come to earth to steal all the moms away because they have none on Mars. The boy sees his mom get kidnapped, hitches a ride on the space ship, and has an amazing moment with the aliens and his mom that makes him realize how much his mother does for him. I always read it to my students before Mother's Day!

  5. Hi! I'm a new follower of your adorable blog! Come follow me too {also kinder} and we can share ideas! :) Thanks for the heads up on the writing book. I have to admit it is NOT my favorite area of kindergarten because I get frustrated that the process doesn't happen quicker. I may have to look into that one!
